In our latest Skirmish Wargames bonus video, we open a factory-sealed Cogs Army Box for the AT-43 sci-fi miniatures game from Rackham Entertainment (paid link), which ran from approximately 2006 to 2010.
The Cogs, who consider themselves masters of genetic evolution, are basically aggressive, grey alien cloners who aspire to be the most successful life-forms in the universe. And apparently, they are well on their way to achieving that goal.
When the Cogs first encountered the Therians for example, the resulting conflict wiped out all but four of the Cog genetic lines. The surviving Cogs regrouped however, and launched a devastating counter offensive with billions of cloned soldiers, eventually capturing a multitude of Therian worlds. It’s safe to say that for even the mighty Therians, the Cogs are a handful.
If you’ve been following our AT-43 unboxing series, so far we’ve looked at the AT-43 Operation Damocles Initiation Set, the ONI Army Box and the Red Block Army Box. Like those AT-43 sets, the Cogs faction box includes pre-painted miniatures, war machines, terrain pieces, starter rules, a battle map and everything else necessary to play AT-43 (with the exception of an opposing force).
Because of their toy-like appearance, the Cog infantry miniatures may have limited appeal with traditional wargamers, however the AT-43 concrete barriers and shipping container included in the Cogs army box are very practical pieces of terrain that would work in a variety of modern or sci-fi scenarios.
To check out all the infantry, armored support and battlefield terrain included in the AT-43 Cogs Army Box from Rackham Entertainment, just fire up the video player at the top of this post.
