Star Wars Miniatures Battle of Hoth Scenario Pack

Released in 2007 for the Star Wars Miniatures tabletop game from Wizards of the Coast, the Battle of Hoth Scenario Pack (paid link) includes maps, stat cards, counters, rules and scenarios for recreating the Rebellion’s desperate defense of Echo Base on the ice planet of Hoth.

This colorful boxed set also includes a host of pre-painted plastic miniatures, including Luke Skywalker and Han Solo on Tauntauns; Darth Vader; Princes Leia; several Hoth Troopers and Snowtroopers; an Atgar Cannon; an E-Web Blaster; a Rebel leader figure and (for some reason) a transparent blue plastic hologram of General Veers.

The scenario pack also includes two vehicles: A Rebel Snowspeeder and an Imperial Blizzard Scout AT-ST Walker. This Hoth scout walker differs from the Endor AT-ST in that it has an arctic color scheme and also lacks the Endor scout’s orange plastic blaster fire emitting from the front cannons.

If you shop around, the Star Wars Miniatures Battle of Hoth Scenario Pack is still available online for a reasonable price, especially considering all it contains. We picked up two of them in the last year for about $60 apiece, which seems like a bargain when you factor in the pre-painted Snowspeeder and Scout Walker.

The paint jobs on both vehicles look pretty decent, as do the Tauntauns and some of the other miniatures. The painted Hoth troopers are quite frankly terrible, but hey, you can’t win them all.

Even though this boxed set was designed for use with the Star Wars Miniatures rules from Wizards of the Coast, there’s nothing to stop you from using them for games of Star Wars Miniatures Battles or any generic scifi wargaming rules.
